Hello IIMC Region 1 members,

Happy 2025 – we hope this email finds you well.   Many of you are working on achieving your national certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and we want to help.  Region 1 and the IIMC Education Dept are hosting a CMC informational session via zoom. If you are working on your CMC or have questions about the program, please join us.  If you are a new member and have no idea what this email is about, please join us as well.  Obtaining your national certification is a professional milestone and a sign of your commitment to your professional excellence.

To prepare for the Jan 29 presentation, please:

1. Register for the session at the link above.
2. Review the Step by Step Guide to earning your CMC   It is attached and here is the link:  CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL CLERK (CMC)
3. Start to review the CMC Application Resource Tool, it is attached in Excel, pdf and here is the link:   CMC Application Resource Tool.xls
4. Gather up your certificates from past educational trainings you have attended – these must be sponsored by IIMC, a municipal clerks  institute, Region 1, other approved educational sponsors, Athenian Dialogues
5. Attend the session and ask questions.  Dr. Jai will do a presentation and then allow time for questions.
6. Moving forward – set a target date to obtain your CMC, figure out a plan for budgeting both your time and funding for the trainings, see how much you have left, many of you might be closer than you realize

Looking ahead – if there is interest, we can also schedule a future Region 1 zoom session on obtaining your Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation.
